Welcome Suzuki
Enthusiasts!
Time to get into a new season of wheelin folks! This month we have some great
articles to get you ready.
We get lots of email from readers (and we love it!), but when we get so much
about a single concern then it's time to address it here - on the front page. As
some of you may have heard, the Badlands have have new owners. Troy and Lisa
Myers have turned an old quarry into a nationally renown offroad adventure. They
have also bent over backwards to help make ZookiMelt a great success. The new
owners, Kyle & Stephanie Knosp, have already told us that
ZookiMelt 2008 will continue as scheduled.
See you on the Trail!

Truly a Trail Slayer
When Hartie Spence picked up the phone that day, I don't think he really
knew what as in store for him. He was interested in getting a suspension
to work and he ended up getting the chance to take home a work of art...

Daystar Winch Isolator
If
you run a winch, you probably know a little about their
quirks, but let me review. When the winch is reeled in, the hook either gets
jammed up against the fairlead or it gets hooked on a convenient tow point.
Both locations are solid but trail vibrations will cause
the line to settle - so the hook loosens up. Daystar came up with a simple, solid urethane isolator that
not only snuggs up the hook for storage, but it also makes a great cable
weight when the cable is under load pulling you out of a jam!

26 Spline RCV
Performance Axles
from Spidertrax
Have
you ever looked closely at the front axle shafts in a Samurai? Have you ever
wanted to upgrade without major component replacement? The front axles meet
the differentials using a small 22 spline pattern. The rear axles slide into
the same kind of differential using a stronger 26 spline pattern. So Suzuki
already made the hard part, we just need something up front that can use
the stronger sidegears.

When
upgrading to a beefier set of front axle shafts, it
isn't just a quick swap of the shafts. The kits that are
out there require a gear change inside the carrier.

See what it takes to install the needed 26 spline
sidegears into a stock carrier and an ARB air
locking differential.

SkY-J Update
After upgrading to stock 4 pack YJ
springs using the Sky YJ Kit I thought I was ready to hit the trails
and show the world my new flex. It did not take long to realize
that flex is easy. Good flex seems to take a lot more work, and
money. Flex is just that—flexy springs. Good flex doesn’t rub or
scrub or break anything. I didn’t have the good flex. YET!

Door Strap Tech
I was looking for a way to disconnect my door straps. I looked at what was
available online and saw the nylon quick release clips. All of a sudden I
was flashing back to my school days and remembering that the ones on my
backpack would never hold up to my life style. There must be a better
way!…..Seatbelts??
