iZook Guru's Ultimate Project Build Off - Truck One
June Update - OMG It Is Not Going To Be Done!

We are starting to get a bit worried, time is flying by! The truck is still sitting out in the garage and it does not even have the tires on yet. The parts that are on. Rear axle complete with ARB Air Locker, Dash from Petroworks, Fuel Injection Manifold and Supercharger.

Parts waiting to be installed or built then installed. Front axle with ARB Air Locker, throttle body, fuel pump and lines. Heck the front springs are still setting in the same spot as they were 3 months ago. Things have not gone as planned and time is running short. This may be the first year the Samurai misses the ZookiMelt.

Parts we have not received yet. The new Spidertrax Seat Kits. we are really looking forward to these. Finely a set of seat that will not give you the iron butt award. Best of all the seats and the new mounts can be ordered as a kit. We hope to be sporting a set of the black PRP seats for the Melt.

Next part we are waiting on is the Petroworks Sport Gage. As many of you know we had a roll over at the end of the season last year. After seeing how well the Petroworks gage protected us we would not run any other!

We are not the only staff members in this situation. Jim is waiting on parts from the vendors to get the new 4 door Tracker completed. Rae is fighting time as Larry and I are. Brent has a dead motor and like us a dead tow vehicle. Time marches on and we will work until the night before if we have too.

The Admiral!

Spent the holiday working on the front end. We had to pull apart a donor axle for the 3rd member. With the heat it was not a lot of fun. If this hot spell is an indicator of the temperatures at the Melt be sure to bring lots of water.
This is the third front I have taken apart so Larry gave me the impact and said it is my turn to take this one apart. He was busy putting the supercharger back in.

This donor had a tough life.

Remove the 10mm bolts holding on the lockout cover.

Remove the lock out. Watch out for the spring.

Remove the clip. We used the two screw driver method. Spend the money an buy snap ring pliers.

Remove the 12mm hub lock out to hub bolts.

Remove the caliper bolts.

Remove the caliper

Use two of the bolts to remove the rotor.

Remove the locknut and adjusting nut.

Bend the locking tab away from the nut.

Don't skimp here go for the 50mm socket.

Remove the 4 bolts holding on the back plate.

Remove the backing plate.

Remove the King pins.

Pull the axle. You are now ready to pull the 3rd member. Just think this is the only piece we needed!

We hope to make some mad progress this month. It is the last before the Melt! See you all next month in the July issue.  Stop by and see if we make the deadline.
