A Review By iZook.comSKY Manufacturing Front Shock Mount
with Larry Harris

Select for larger imageI have been through a lot of shock towers. In fact, I bet all of them have been on my truck at one time or another. I have had stock, the Ford version and most after market sets. I have found the set that will be on my truck for ever.  Don't get me wrong, there are some very high quality kits on the market and they all served my needs to a great extent with some minor rubs here and there. Please remember that each of our needs are different as is our suspensions. It is truly great that we now have a large selection to choose from. Some require cutting of the fender well, but I didn't want to. Some do not allow the full travel of the shock in both directions. With some no matter what I did my shock tried to hit on full stuff in a turn. One call to Sky Manufacturing and no more problems.

This kit will require cutting off the old towers and welding on the new ones. If you are not comfortable with this process there are other options. This kit can be bolt on long enough to drive to your favorite welding shop.

The front shock hoop allows use of shocks that are 5.5" longer than stock, no geometry changes are made,  and no fender well cutting is necessary. These allow the use of eye style shocks, and they just plain look trick! They are constructed from 1" .120" wall ERW tubing, self-aligning, weld on.

At the time of this review, the Shock Mounting System was available through: North Coast Off-road, Roadless Gear, Rocky-Road Outfitters, and through direct sales at Sky Manufacturing at their web site.
